What should renters in Douglas County know before booking?
Renters in Douglas County should know the delivery route and same-day cutoff for their town, the local event and lake calendar that books trucks early, which office handles permits, and how the county's 5-foot frost depth affects winter and spring placement.
Same-day zone, start to finish
Every Douglas County town is under 25 road miles from the yard. A noon call usually means a unit standing on site by late afternoon.
Chain of Lakes cabin work
Lake Carlos, L'Homme Dieu, Darling, Geneva, Victoria and Miltona shorelines see steady remodel and new-build work. Narrow lake lanes mean we ask about turnaround room before we send the truck.
Big summer event calendar
Vikingland Band Festival (last Sunday in June), Art in the Park (late July), the Douglas County Fair (mid-August) and the Grape Stomp at Carlos Creek Winery (September) all lift demand. Book those weekends early.
Special event permits
Events on county roads or right-of-way go through Douglas County Public Works. Food stands also answer to Horizon Public Health, which requires real hand washing, not sanitizer.
5-foot frost depth
Douglas County is in Minnesota's deepest frost-footing zone. From November to March we add brine to tanks and set units on packed, plowed ground.
